The Lemoore Christmas season officially began last Sunday with the annual "raising of the downtown Christmas tree" at the corner of Fox and D streets. The Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department traditionally visits the local mountains and picks up a large tree to place downtown. The tree was up in a matter of an hour or so as the volunteers converged on the downtown area.
There was plenty downtown for kids and adults to do, including hopping on the fire truck for a quick spin around town or a visit to the Sarah Mooney Museum just down the block. There was a craft fair at the Veterans Hall and so much more to enjoy. The annual Lemoore Christmas Parade is scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 5 beginning at 6 pm.
