Assembly's Salas names Kings Community Action non-profit of the year

Assemblymember Rudy Salas has recognized the Kings Community Action Organization (KCAO) with the 32nd Assembly District Nonprofit of the Year Award.

“For a generation, the Kings Community Action Organization has been a pillar of excellence and community service in the region,” said Assemblymember Rudy Salas. “The services provided by KCAO have been instrumental in changing the lives of so many Central Valley families. KCAO staff and volunteers continue to be strong stewards and advocates of positive change in our community and I am proud to recognize their hard work.”

“The Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers of KCAO are honored to receive this award from Assemblymember Salas,” said Jeff Garner, Executive Director of Kings Community Action Organization. “This award is a testament to the hardworking, talented staff and volunteers that make KCAO a special organization.”

“We are thrilled that the State Assembly has passed a resolution putting the spotlight on nonprofits like KCAO. We congratulate them on being honored for the great work they do every day to make California a better place,” said Jan Masaoka, CEO of California Association of Nonprofits.

Since 1965, KCAO has operated various services and programs focused on child care assistance, home energy reduction, youth services, domestic violence and sexual assault, hunger prevention, and nutrition education. With the support from community partners, donors, and funders, the staff and volunteers of KCAO work together to serve over 11,000 people every year.
