Another talented Lemoore High School wrestler will continue his craft in the college ranks. The Tigers’ Jesse Gaytan signed recently with Menlo College and will wrestle for its coach Joey Martinez. Menlo College is located in Atherton, California, and focuses on business education.

Coach Martinez opted to add some youth to his already talented team with the signing of Gaytan.  Although just a freshman, Martinez expects the talented Tiger wrestler to make an impact early and often in his Menlo career.

Gaytan was an outstanding varsity wrestler for the Tigers. After earning a spot on the varsity team in his freshman year, he became one of the most feared wrestlers in the Central Valley by his sophomore year.

Gaytan did not lose a league bout from his sophomore through his senior year.  He won well over 90 bouts in his prep career, and he was a three-time state championship qualifier.

It was as recently as March that Gaytan appeared in the California State Wrestling Championships. He was one of four varsity Tigers to go to this year’s state championships.

A stellar student as well, Jesse maintained a GPA above 3.8 while at Lemoore.  While at Menlo, Jesse plans to study sports management while competing on the mats.  With the Menlo Oaks coming off of their best season in program history, Jesse looks to help continue the team’s success.
