Lemoore High water polo duo help South Valley Water Polo Club to third in Junior Olympics

A pair of Lemoore High School water polo players, one headed to Fresno Pacific and the other returning for his senior year, helped lead the South Valley Water Polo Club (SOVA) from Visalia, to a third place finish in the Gold Division at the 2016 Junior Olympics, held July 23 - 26 in San Jose.

The Lemoore athletes included departing senior Nathan Olson and returning letterman Calvin Rhoads, both standouts on last year’s Tiger water polo team.

The four-day national tournament hosted over 80 teams and was played in area schools, including Stanford University. The team was coached by Rick Nordell from Golden West.
