A Kings County administrative office assistant has decided to run for a seat in this year’s Lemoore City Council election. Angela Valenzuela, 45, who has lived in Lemoore most of her life since she was four-years old, told The Leader that she has pulled nomination papers and has since returned them.

She currently works in the Kings County Administrative Office. She attended Lemoore schools and left Lemoore briefly from 1999-2001 for Orange County. “I love the City of Lemoore,” she said. “I want to give back to my community and see current and incoming businesses thrive.”

She cites her experience with the Kings County CAO in giving her deep knowledge of governmental budgets, policies, and procedures. She is also a former Kings County Sheriff’s Detentions Deputy.

“I am a public safety promoter and I supported Measure K wholeheartedly,” she added. “I am organized, a problem solver, and I am a viable candidate for the city council. I plan to run a positive campaign to showcase my abilities, knowledge and common sense.”

Valenzuela’s husband, Joaquin, currently works at Avenal State Prison. The two have two daughters, Lindsey Brasov, 15 and Karli Brasov. She is also a host mother this year to three exchange students through World Link Organization.
