City backtracks on press release regarding outside bill paying; DOXO legitimate

City of Lemoore officials are saying now that an online payment processing site named DOXO is a legitimate site. City residents can use the site, but there is a fee attached. There are no charges when using the city's online site, located on the city's website at www.lemoore.com.

Residents can use the City of Lemoore website and make online payments through “Paymentus,” which can be accessed through a link on the city’s website under “Online Bill Pay.”

City officials, in a press release issued Sept. 7, say an unaffiliated online bill payment service, DOXO, is claiming that customers may make payments through the website for the City of Lemoore utility bills. The DOXO website is not affiliated with the City of Lemoore and is not approved by the city for online payment of utility bills.
