Stratford residents and friends took another step in the town’s road to recovery with its second annual 5 K Run and Festival, held Saturday morning in the small community.
Reestablishing Stratford, the local organization founded by Rob Isquierdo and Ramon Chavez, got the annual run started at about 8:45 a.m. Saturday morning. The two men, along with several other Stratfordites hope to bring positive change to their small community and to change its image.
The overriding goal of the organization is to bring its citizens together and bring respectability to their town by breaking the cycle of negative activities associated with rural small living by putting a positive face on the town with uplifting and positive activities.
Following the 5k run, local residents got together for a special festival near the downtown from 9 a.m. to noon.
