The first baby born in Kings County is a girl, and the proud parents Tiffany, of Lemoore, and, Darrell, of Hanford, both of whom welcomed baby Shaylee into the world at 1:10 a.m. at the Family Birth Center at Adventist Medical Center - Hanford.

Shaylee weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and measured 20 inches in length.

Her mother was due on Dec. 31, 2016, but it appears Shaylee wanted to wait and make a grand entrance on New Year’s!

“My water broke on Friday, Dec. 30,” says Tiffany. “I arrived at the hospital at midnight and was in labor for 24 hours.”

Due to foreseeable complications, doctors decided to deliver via C-Section.

“She is so precious,” says Tiffany, who had great things to say about the staff who helped make her first labor experience, a memorable one.

“The doctor was nice and all of the nurses were so sweet and comforting,” she says. “I don’t have a high tolerance for pain, so I was buzzing them with my remote control a lot and they were always right there to help.”
