Lemoore council's summer hiatus ends with Tuesday night meeting

Lemoore’s mayor and councilmembers will get back to work after taking much of the summer off. Their last official meeting was June 20. They did participate in a special gathering on July 31.

Other than a pair of ceremonial presentations – to the Lemoore Volunteens and the Lemoore Police Department Police Athletic League – Lemoore's governing body will conduct a public hearing on a general plan amendment and the first reading of a zone change amendment regarding a request by Daley Homes to re-establish low and medium density residential areas on a site located at the northeast corner of Highway 198 and Route 41.

The council will also get a look at the May and June financial report and approve a budget amendment and notice of completion of the Fox Street renovation. Contractors recently completed the roughly $300,000 project, removing 70 trees and replacing sidewalks.

Councilmembers will have additional money to use towards the renovation of the Lemoore Senior Citizens project. The bid for the project to Carvalho Construction for $1,218,856 will be enhanced by an additional $101,508 from a Community Development Block Grant. City staff completed discussions with CDBG administrators and were advised that the additional funds from Activity Delivery Funding may be used towards the grant.
