Blood drive today (Aug. 31) in Hanford for Hurricane Harvey victims

The Fresno Blood Bank is sending donated blood to the Houston area daily and is asking for additional help. Local residents have an opportunity to help donate blood to dialysis victims and others in Texas. Local blood bank volunteers will be at 340 N. Irwin Street at 6 p.m. today (Aug. 31) for those wanting to donate blood.

Most blood drives and blood donor centers in the Gulf Coast area have temporarily ceased operations due to dangerous conditions. Those who can't attend a local blood bank are encouraged to schedule a donation by calling 559-389-5461.
