It was a very happy stadium full of students, alumni, and fans who got to watch their Tigers beat up on Mt. Whitney and applaud new Lemoore High School Royalty crowned during Friday night’s annual Homecoming festivities.
For the record, Lemoore beat the Pioneers 42-35 to stay in the hunt for the West Yosemite League championship. The student body also picked a beauty for its 2017 Homecoming Queen: senior Chloe Chedester, who joined Homecoming King Jack Foote in the short celebratory ride around the Tiger Stadium track.
Foote’s coronation didn’t last long. His team needed him on the field.
The senior candidates for this year’s queen, in addition to Chedester, included Aiyana Moore, Athena Calimquim, Madison Dominguez, Paige Wheeler, and Reese Herron.
King candidates included Foote’s fellow teammate Damion Charleston, as well as Ace Alba, Dillon Parsons, Manuel Herrera, and Ray Escandon.
This year’s freshman prince and princess were Janson Cunningham and Desiree Melendrez. Sophomore royalty included Erick Vidal and Mariah Gomez while junior prince and princess were Matthew Martin and Ashley Phelps.
