Lemoore’s varsity softball team finally got back in the winning mood. On Tuesday (May 1) the Tigers finally broke a losing streak by beating Mt. Whitney 10-4 on the Pioneers' home field.

However, the tide turned once again as the Tigers failed to take advantage of their home cooking and dropped an 8-5 decision to El Diamante on Thursday. Lemoore fell to 2-8 in the West Yosemite League and 10-16 overall.

Lemoore’s next game is at Golden West High School on Tuesday, May 8 at 4:30 p.m.

The Tigers are mired in sixth place, trailing league leaders Redwood and Hanford West, both of whom lead the way with 9-2 marks. And with just Tuesday’s game and the season finale against Hanford, the Tigers won’t be making the playoffs this year.

In Thursday’s loss to the Miners, the Tigers had only seven hits, Lemoore’s best at the plate, Susannah Campos, with a pair of hits and four RBI.

Pitcher Ashtyn Lucas suffered the loss, giving up ten hits to El Diamante batters and striking out three.
