At its April Community Breakfast, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino presented a check to Relay for Life Lemoore for $54,810. This contribution brings the Tachi Palace and the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribe total lifetime donation to American Cancer Society and Relay for Life to more than $500,600.

Approximately 675 people attended the fundraising breakfast, raising $3,405 at the door. Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino and the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribe matched the amount, for a total of $6,810, plus an additional $48,000 was raised from bake sales and auctions held throughout the year. Tachi Palace General Manager Willie Barrios was on hand to present the check to Relay for Life Event Leader Mia Love.

“With your faithful financial contributions over the years, you’ve demonstrated your deep commitment to our mission of ending the fight against cancer. We are honored to be able to stand beside you as you reach your lifetime giving of half million dollars to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life Lemoore,” said Love. “There is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty. On behalf of the Lemoore Relay for Life Community, I want to say thank you for joining the fight and that we are inspired by the dedication and generosity of Tachi Palace who answers the call to give again and again.”

The American Cancer Society, with the support of Tachi Palace and Santa Rosa Rancheria, assisted Kings/Tulare County residents by providing free local patient services. In 2017 they achieved the following:

  • Eight cancer patients received 22 room nights via ACS Hotel Partners
  • 61 female cancer patients were helped at a Look Good Feel Better workshop
  • Eight new breast cancer patients were mentored by breast cancer survivors volunteering for the Reach to Recovery program
  • 57 new wigs were given to female cancer patients from the Hanford Wig Bank
