It wasn’t an easy venue to get to, but thousands of parents, friends, brothers, and sisters managed to converge at Lemoore High School’s Tiger Stadium Thursday night despite the site’s current renovation, and the enthusiastic crowd wasn’t about to let a few distractions spoil the majesty of a son or daughter’s high school graduation.

Nearly 400 LHS seniors “walked the line” Thursday night beneath blue skies and a pleasant wind that managed to make for a cool evening. The 2018 grads were led into the stadium by a solid throng of their teachers and administrators, forced to avoid open ditches and fencing, the result of the ongoing renovation.

Thursday night’s colorful graduation ceremony was the third for the Lemoore Union High School District. On May 24, the Lemoore Middle College High School graduated 54 students in an impressive ceremony in the West Hills College Golden Eagle Arena.

On Wednesday (May 30), the district’s Jamison High School had 35 students receive diplomas in a dignified ceremony in the high school’s event center.

The premier event is, of course, the high school’s graduation ceremony, the school’s 117th. As per the custom, the grads and the standing room only crowd were treated to a flyover from single United States Navy FA- 18, at the conclusion of a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.

According to Principal Rodney Brumit, this year’s class, performed admirably, exulting in honors and reaping awards as they prepare for life in the adult world. Brumit rattled off a list of the seniors’ accomplishments and future endeavors.
