A contingent of Lemoore High School wrestlers decided they wanted to help the make Lemoore Police Department’s job a little easier. They grabbed their paintbrushes and a bucket of paint and set about sprucing up or painting curb numbers.

On Sept. 5, the Lemoore Police Department and the wrestlers conducted the “Paint the Curb” program, involving painting or replacing the residence address numbers on the curb adjacent to the home. The purpose of the program is to help emergency services more easily identify address numbers.

Lemoore officers Eric Trevino and Justin Perkins accompanied by five LHS wrestlers canvassed a specific neighborhood, painting or redefining residence curb numbers. Residents were asked for a donation, but it wasn’t required. All funds obtained through donations went to the Lemoore High School Wrestling program.
