LHS nursing program kicks off holidays; donates canned goods to Lemoore Christian Aid

The local high school has been a big supporter of Lemoore Christian Aide. Student groups often collect canned goods and donate them to LCA.
Lemoore Christian Aid (LCA) is located at 224 N. Lemoore Ave. Its hours are Monday thru Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Canned foods, clothing, and other items are accepted. Its phone number is 924-2229.
There is also the Lemoore Christian Aid Renewed Thrift Store located at 238 West D Street in Lemoore. Its hours are Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are accepted Tuesday thru Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lemoore Christian Aid receives 100 percent of the Renewed Thrift Store profits. LCA uses those monies to purchase food for families in our community facing difficult times and needing assistance. Lemoore Christian Aid says $12 will help feed a family for a week.
Lemoore Christian Aid was conceived and brought to fruition in 1983. Today, its executive director, Nick Francu, who has been at the helm for the past year, is responsible for the daily operation of LCA. “We give people a helping hand,” he said as he praised the local students for their donation. “We feed about 700 families every month. Our intentions are to feed anybody who comes here.”
The nursing students who brought the canned goods to LCA included Jewels Halkum, Rhema Delcampo, Alejandra Khan, MJ Bresenio, Jeanette Cisneros, Amy Nunez, and Jade Jaramillo.
