Tigers' Will Kloster defeats Nevada state champ at Morro Bay wrestling tournament; Wayne Joint wins weight class
The talented athlete took top honors over the weekend. Kloster won his division, defeating last year’s Nevada State Champion Tommy McCormick – and ultimately captured the Most Valuable Upper Weight. He was joined on the winner’s block by 126-pound wrestler Wayne Joint, who beat Oakdale’s Caesar Garza in the finals. Jesse Gayton (120) took third at Morro Bay.

The Tigers hit the road this week again for another West Yosemite League dual match at Mt. Whitney High School, where on Thursday at 4:30 p.m., they hope to win and keep on track for yet another WYL championship.
In girls’ action, Eunique Barnes took first at 189 pounds at the Lady Hawk Invitational at Mission Oaks High School. Destiny Barnes was second at 235 pounds while Rayann Nevarez took fourth at 126 pounds.
This week the girls will head to the Central Valley Invitational at Golden West on Friday (Jan. 25) afternoon, and then hit the road for the Lady Bailer Tournament in Hollister. The boys will appear at the Central Valley Invitation on Saturday (Jan. 26).
