Tigers fall to Golden West in West Yosemite League swimming action Thursday in LHS pool

In West Yosemite League swimming action on Thursday (March 28) Golden West High School found Lemoore’s pool to their liking as the varsity boys and girls outlasted the Tigers, the Blazers defeating the Tigers 103-75 in the varsity boys’ division and 88-59 in the varsity girls’ competition.

Lemoore High’s junior varsity boys won their division 85-53.

For the Tigers, Riley Gibson and Hunter Cole won a pair of events each to lead their squad. For the girls, Emma DeBurger won two events.

Hunter and Gibson joined Janson Cunningham and Daniel Bermea to win the boys 200-yard medley relay in 1:46.56. Gibson also won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:55.51 while Hunter won the boys 50-yard freestyle in 23.42 and the 100-yard free in 51.58.

DeBurger won the 50-yard freestyle in 27.27 and 500-yard freestyle in 6:16.64. Mitchell Bonham won the boys’ 500-yard freestyle in 5:38.90.

Lemoore was scheduled to compete at the Clovis West Swimming Invitational on Saturday, March 30 then take on Mt. Whitney High School in WYL action on April 4.
