Tigers crush visiting El Diamante to get back into thick of West Yosemite League's tennis race

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ tennis squad got back into the West Yosemite League title hunt with a dominant shutout of visiting El Diamante Thursday afternoon. The Tigers crushed the Miners 9-0 and hoped to continue the momentum when they take the short drive to Visalia on Tuesday (April 2) for a match at Golden West High School.

Lemoore improved to 4-3 in the WYL and are 7-5 overall. The Tigers trail Redwood (7-0) and Mt. Whitney (7-1) in the league standings with just three league matches left.

On Thursday Lemoore dominated the Miners, the closest match a 6-3, 6-3 win by Marjaby Bresenio. In other action Luis Renteria crushed his opponent 6-0- 6-1, while fellow Tiger Mathew Ramirez easily won 6-0, 6-1 to continue the winning streak.

In other action, Jonathan Santiago (6-0, 6-4) and Pete Hawken, likewise, dominated his foe 6-0, 6-0. Finally, in singles play, Chris Beltran won his match 6-2, 6-0.

The Tigers were equally dominant in double action as Renteria and Ramirez won 8-0, and then Bresenio and Santiago combined for an 8-3 victory. Finally, Jalen Chavez and Nick Ibarra won their doubles match 8-4.
