Coach Izzy Gonzalez’ Tigers are hoping to turn things around on Wednesday, Apr. 10 when Golden West brings its 1-3 team to Lemoore’s baseball diamond. Lemoore’s varsity baseball team fell to 0-4 in the West Yosemite League with a pair of losses this past week, including Friday’s 6-1 loss to visiting El Diamante.

It was Lemoore’s second loss of the week to the Miners. El Diamante upset the Tigers on Wednesday in Visalia 5-2.

The Miners led the entire game, scoring twice in the first inning and adding another in the second. Lemoore scored in the second to cut the gap to 3-1 and managed to stay close until the top of the seventh when El Diamante scored three runs to account for the final score.

The Tigers had six hits in the game, two off the bat of Nick Brewster. Justin Holaday went six innings for the Tigers and was effective, giving up just four hits while striking out five.

In the 5-2 loss on Wednesday, El Diamante took the early lead 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning. Lemoore came up with a pair of runs in the top of the second to tie the game.

Holaday and Payton Dominguez led the Tigers in hitting, each getting a pair of hits in three trips to the plate.
