It hasn’t been a good week for Lemoore High School volleyball as the Tigers dropped a pair of West Yosemite League matchups in the last couple of weeks, a 3-0 loss to Redwood on Oct. 3 and a Wednesday shutout (3-0) to visiting El Diamante.

In Wednesday’s game against the Miners, Lemoore dropped three in a row, 25-20 in the opening match, 25-22 in the second, and 25-13 in the final match.

The Rangers, in the Oct. 3 contest, crushed Lemoore in the first set 25-6 before the Tigers rebounded somewhat, but still fell in the final two sets 17-25 and 23-25 in the closer.

Lemoore fell to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in the league campaign that nears its end.

Lemoore’s varsity boys’ water polo team scored 11 times in Wednesday night’s WYL matchup with Redwood High School, played in the Rangers’ pool, but the Rangers scored 16 times to outlast the Tigers.

The Tigers are scheduled for a home game on Oct. 16 against El Diamante at 6:30 p.m.

Lemoore’s ladies also fell Wednesday night in the Rangers’ pool as the Tigers could score just four times in an 18-4 loss as they fell to 0-5 in the WYL and 1-12 overall.

Lemoore’s ladies are scheduled to play in the Sunnyside Water Polo Tournament scheduled to begin on Friday, Oct. 11.
