Lemoore's Diego Nunes earns WYL soccer MVP as soccer teammates earn first team

Lemoore’s Diego Nunes, a junior on the Lemoore High School soccer team, was named the West Yosemite League’s co-Most Valuable Player in a recent vote by the league’s head coaches.  His teammates, Matt Ramirez and Jalen Chavez were both first-team selections for the Tigers.

Lemoore’s talented team was an impressive 17-7-3 on the season and 6-2-2 in the league campaign.

The Tigers earned a spot in the Central Section playoffs, beating Templeton and Porterville before losing a semifinal game to Highland High School, which lost 3-0 to the Central Section Division 3 champs, Foothill High School.

Nunez, a junior was impressive in the field, scoring 23 goals on the season to lead the Tigers. First-teamer Matt Ramirez was nearly as effective, scoring 19 goals on the year.
