Lemoore High School’s talented varsity boys’ soccer team’s hopes of a Central Section Division 3 championship ended Thursday night when visiting San Joaquin Memorial managed to edge the Tigers 2-1 in the quarterfinals.
Heading into Thursday’s game, the Tigers were 14-4 but couldn’t quite deliver on its offensive prowess against Memorial (9-6-3).
Lemoore’s Jadon Silvestre scored the Tigers' only goal in the second half, around the 71st minute of the contest. The Memorial Panthers scored twice in the second half in a contest that remained close throughout the match as both teams were scoreless in the first half.
