Lemoore’s hot varsity volleyball team cooled down somewhat Tuesday night in Lemoore as the Tigers dropped their first match of the season, a 3-2 shocker to the Hanford Huskies. After a week off, the Tigers hope to recoup when they tackle Monache in Porterville on Tuesday, Sept. 7.

A tournament has also been scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 17 thru 18.

The Tigers return to WYL play on Sept. 22 when they take on Redwood in Visalia.

Tuesday’s match against Hanford West was indeed close as the two teams traded winning sets. Lemoore got off to a solid start with a 25-13 first set win, but Hanford West took the second set 25-21.

The Tigers got back on track in set three, easily getting past the Huskies 25-16. West returned the favor with a stunning 25-19 win. Hanford West finally prevailed in the fifth and final set by outlasting Lemoore 15-11.
