Tiger grapplers continue to score well in Central Valley wrestling action at East Bakersfield's Coyote Classic

Lemoore's varsity wrestling team continues to fare well in local competition. On Dec. 10-11, the Tigers competed at the East Bakersfield Coyote Classic and came away with a fifth-place trophy out of 32 teams. The tournament also consisted of 16 Bakersfield schools and schools from the southern section.  The Tigers had five wrestlers place well and took home the fifth-place team trophy.

Lemoore's Jason McDonald took top honors in the 108-pound weight class as one of Lemoore's standouts. McDonald, at 8-0 on the season, he managed to earn the tourney championship, winning his first three matches by pin and then winning 6-2 in the finals against a wrestler from Foothill High School. 

His brother, Dylan McDonald, also earned a tourney title at the 122-pound weight class, improving his season record to 12-1. He won his first match easily, earning a 16-1 victory. He pinned his next two opponents by pins before completing his tournament title with a 15-7 in the finals.  Due to his efforts, Dylan also earned the tourney's Most Outstanding lower-weight recipient in the tournament.   

Sebastian Macedo improved his season record 9-4 and cruised through the 134-pound weight class, winning his first match 9-0 and then pinning his next three opponents, including an Independence High School foe in the tournament finals.

Isaiah Morales improved his season record to 12-1 as he marched to a championship at the 285-pound weight class. Morales put on a show, pinning all four of his opponents, including Caesar Chavez, in the finals.

Lemoore's Cameron Campos improved his season record to 8-4. He pinned his opponent in the first match and then lost his quarterfinals match in overtime. He returned to the mat, rallying for a pair of wins to put himself into the medal round, where he took fifth place, pinning his final opponent.

The Lemoore Junior Varisty placed four wrestlers at the Madera Ranchos tournament: Adrian Hurd, Trevor Duncan, Hector Barajas, and Robert Filipe
