Lady Golden Eagles hoopsters win opening playoff game and will face San Joaquin Delta in second round

The West Hills College Golden Eagle women’s basketball team took its first step toward a spot in the Community College playoffs after defeating visiting Siskiyous Tuesday night in the Golden Eagle Arena 73-61. The win allows the Eagles to advance in the playoffs where they will travel for a match-up against San Joaquin Delta on Thursday, March 3.

Tuesday night’s win improved West Hills Lemoore’s record to 17-11.

The Golden Eagles took an impressive 22-11 first-quarter lead and led 37-28 at the half. A big 21-11 third quarter just about sealed the win for the local ladies.

Sad Booker-Honeycutt led the Golden Eagles with 16 points while Audrey Gonzalez Alvarez tossed in 15 points. Amaya Sanchez scored 15 points for the Eagles and hauled in a team-high seven rebounds.
