Lemoore Police Department officers arrest shooting suspect in Hanford

Lemoore Police Officers were dispatched to Sierra Circle in Lemoore on July 27 at about 7:13 p.m. to investigate a report of a male gunshot victim. Officers arrived on the scene and located a 43-year-old male from Lemoore suffering from a headshot wound.

He was transported to a local area hospital and later listed in stable condition. 

Lemoore police identified a suspect as 40-year-old Daniel Garcia of Armona. A short time later, California Highway Patrol officers located the suspect, who led officers on a high-speed pursuit. With the assistance of the Kings County Sheriff’s Office and other allied agencies, the suspect, Garcia, was apprehended in Hanford.

A short-barreled shotgun, shotgun ammunition, and pistol were recovered as a result of the pursuit. 

The Lemoore Police Department stated that Garcia is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Garcia was arrested and booked into Kings County Jail for the charges of attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, removing the serial number from a firearm, and evading a peace officer. Garcia’s bail was set at $ 595,000.
