Lemoore’s talented Tigers got off to another solid start Friday night as the West Yosemite League season got underway with league newcomer Tulare Union arriving in town. Unfortunately for The Tribe, the Tigers were lousy hosts, as Lemoore continued its offensive ways, crushing Tulare 42-20 to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Tigers would like to improve to 6-1 as they prepare for an October 7 matchup at Mission Oak High School, a team that also boasts a 5-1 mark after crushing Tulare Western Friday night 43-7.

The Tigers also celebrated Homecoming Friday night and treated the Tiger faithful to another scoring binge. Lemoore scored four times in the first half while holding the Tribe to a pair of first-half touchdowns.

The Tigers scored twice more in the third period to distance themselves from Tulare quickly.

Lemoore got on the board early on their first possession. Tiger quarterback Ty Chambers got on the board first with a 73-yard touchdown pass to Demel Turner. After Jayden Evangelo booted the extra point, the Tigers had a lead they weren’t about to relinquish.

Tulare tied the game with about six minutes left in the opening frame when Union’s Dominic Wilson scored on a 21-yard effort.

No. 3 Kobe Green caught this 15-yard pass for a Lemoore touchdown.

With about a minute remaining in the opening quarter, Anthony Garcia found himself with the ball and a four-yard rushing TD to put the Tigers up 14-7.

To get back into the game, Tulare’s Jaelin Dominguez put his team back on the board with a two-yard TD to tie the game at 14-14.

But the Tigers weren’t about to let a Homecoming victory get away. Chambers found Kobe Green on a 25-yard scoring pass that upped the margin to 21-14 with about five minutes left in the first half.

With less than two minutes left in the first half, Chambers found Turner again from 19 yards to put Lemoore up 28-14.

The Tigers scored twice in the third quarter and held The Tribe to just six fourth-quarter points to complete the 42-20 victory.
