Mission Oak High School fell to 5-2 overall and is now 1-1 in the West Yosemite League, thanks to Lemoore's impressive shutdown of the Hawks on Tulare's home turf. The Tigers, no strangers to putting points on the scoreboard, did it again Friday, shutting out the surprised Hawks 48-0.

With Friday night’s victory, the Tigers improved to 6-1.

Lemoore hits the road again for the next two weeks with contests against Dinuba (Oct. 14) and Tulare Western (Oct. 21) before returning home for the regular season final against Hanford, slated for Tiger Stadium.

Lemoore completely shut down Mission Oak, scoring 31 first-half points and then adding 17 more in the second half for the 48-0 whitewash.

Anthony Garcia started the ball rolling with a 23-yard rushing touchdown in the opening stanza for a 7-0 lead.

With about eight minutes left in the first quarter, Andrew Moench scored on a 40-yard run to up the lead to 14-0. Jayden Evangelo, who booked the first two extra points, contributed an 18-yard field goal with about four minutes left in the opening stanza for a 17-0 lead.

It didn’t take long to light up the scoreboard when quarterback Ty Chambers found Demel Turner open for a 29-yard touchdown and a 24-0 lead in the opening minutes of the second quarter.

Chambers followed up at the seven-minute mark by completing a pass to Kobe Green for a 31-0 advantage that stood until halftime.

The Tiger scored 17 in the second half while a stingy Lemoore defense managed to shut out the surprised Hawks.
