Lemoore’s talented squad hopes to continue its WYL dominance Friday night when the Tigers host their cross-county rivals, Hanford, in the season finale with a championship and Milk Can on the line.
Friday night in Tulare was similar to the Tigers’ recent victories. In other words, Western didn’t have much of an opportunity to win as the Tigers rolled to a 35-0 first half to dominate their Tulare hosts.
The Tigers settled down somewhat in the second half, scoring just twice for a 49-0 victory to set up Friday’s WYL finale against Hanford, a game to be played in friendly Tiger Stadium.
The Bullpups, who played a Saturday night game against Mission Oak, put together a 6-2 record prior to matching up with Mission Oak (5-3) and will likely be ready for the powerful Tigers.
Gametime is 7 p.m. in Lemoore.
In Friday’s shutout, Lemoore got on the board early when quarterback Ty Chambers tossed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Demel Turner for the 7-0 lead. Chambers followed that first TD with an 85-yard pass to what has become his favorite receiver, Turner, to take the two-touchdown lead.

Still, in the first half, Lemoore’s Izzy Ramos made it 21-0 when he scored from a yard out.
With about seven minutes left in the first half, Chambers relied on his legs, this time running for a 47-yard touchdown and a 28-0 lead.
The Tigers scored once more in the first half on a Chambers 33-yard pass to Preston Scott for a 35-0 lead. Jayden Evangelo booted all the extra points for the Tigers.
Lemoore eased up on Tulare in the second half scoring a pair of touchdowns, one in each quarter.
On the defensive side of the line, the Tigers shut down Tulare with 45 tackles, including five from Isaiah Morales, Jonah Campos, Spencer Silva, and Jace Silva.
Linemen Michael Nino had a pair of sacks in the game. G. Rea-huizer and Spencer Silva each came away with a sack.
