After putting together a 9-1 fall campaign, which included a 42-15 defeat of cross-county rival Hanford,  Lemoore’s West Yosemite League champs (5-0) are getting a week off before beginning what very well could be a decisive run for the Division II title game.

On Sunday, the Central Section CIF released its Division II playoff pairings, and the third-ranked Tigers are joining No. 1 ranked Central Valley Christian and No. 2 Kingsburg as the only teams to earn first-week byes.

The Division II football playoffs begin on Thursday, November 10. The Tigers will play the winner of the Washington Union (No. 6) and Dinuba (No. 11) matchup on Friday, November 18.

Coach Rich Tuman and his staff will have at least two weeks to prepare for its playoff opener, which will come against a pair of teams that the Tigers have already defeated during the regular season. Lemoore defeated Washington Union 56-34 in week two while handing Dinuba a 28-14 loss on October 14.

The Tigers defeated cross-county foe Hanford, and is ranked No. 4 in the Division II brackets. The Bullpups will tackle No. 13 Ridgeview this Thursday (November 10).

Hanford took a historic drubbing Friday night from the upstart Tigers, who put together an impressive offensive effort as they continued to rack up double-digit points again, a common theme this season for Lemoore.

Lemoore has outscored its opposition 453 to 107 in its 9-1 season, its only loss to a powerful Clovis West team.

In Friday’s (October 28) game against Hanford, the Tigers continued their high-scoring ways, allowing the Bullpups just 15 points as the hosts poured it on once again, as its potent offense managed to hold the Bullpups to just 15 points in the regular season finale.

The Tigers again put on an offensive show as quarterback Ty Chambers completed 10 of 16 passes for 141 yards. The talented signal caller also ran for 110 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns. One of his favorite Targets Friday was Preston Scott, who grabbed four passes for 63 yards.

Lemoore’s running back, Andrew Moench, also helped to run up the score, tallying a pair of touchdowns to go along with his 108 rushing yards.
