Tigers blow past Washington Union 64-8 in Division II playoffs as they continue their march to CIF title game
Lemoore will host No. 7 Frontier High School on Friday, Nov. 18, and if Lemoore wins that contest, it will face No. 1 ranked Central Valley Christian or the winner of the Bakersfield Christian-Hanford game scheduled for Friday night (Nov. 11) in Bullpup Stadium.
The 10-1 Tigers scored almost at will Friday in Tiger Stadium as they rang up 64 points, the second most this season. Only the Tigers’ season opener was bigger when they defeated Selma 78-6.
Lemoore scored 48 points in the first half alone Thursday night. Lemoore eased up in the second half, scoring 16 points. Washington got on the scoreboard in the second quarter, scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion, but that was about it for the visitors.
Lemoore scored first when with about 11 minutes remaining in the opening stanza, defensive standout Kobe Green recovered a Washington fumble on the 21-yard line.
Moments later, running back Andrew Moench scored from eight yards out to grab the early lead. Jayden Evangelo booted the extra point, and Lemoore was off and running, much to Washington’s regret.
Moench got on the board again just minutes later when he scored on a 10-yard run to up the margin to 14-0.

Quarterback Ty Chambers connected with receiver Demel Turner for another touchdown and a 21-0 lead, still in the opening stanza.
A Kobe Green interception with about two minutes left in the quarter placed the ball on the Panther two-yard line, where running back Anthony Garcia made it 27-0 with his touchdown.
Washington’s only score came on a 15-yard pass early in the second quarter. The two-point conversion put the score at 34-8
Later in the second period, Chambers scored to up the margin to 41-8, and with a little under a minute left in the first half, Chambers tossed a 23-yard pass to Alex Morales for a touchdown and a 47-8 halftime lead.
The Tigers scored 16 more points in the third quarter while holding their guests scoreless.
Lemoore’s defensive unit even got into the scoring habit, as defensive player Isaiah Morales scored on a 22-yard fumble recovery and a touchdown to put the Tiger sup 61-8 late in the third quarter.
