Lemoore golfers win at annual NCGA South Valley Zone Golf Championship and will compete in August event

A quartet of local golfers from Lemoore recently won the annual NCGA South Valley Zone Championship. The local team will advance to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, set for August 21-23, set for August 21-23 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill in the Monterey Bay Area.

The Lemoore GC team, consisting of David Chavez, Ryan Rojas, Perry Lopez, and Joe Jones, shot a final round 8-under par 134 playing in a format that takes the two best net scores of a four-person team to come in at 15-und34er par.

The Lemoore team edged runner-up Belmont CC by a stroke. The Belmont team finished at 270 after its final round of 136. Dragonfly GC took third at 2732.

Lemoore and Belmont CC advanced to this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, scheduled for Aug. 21-22 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
