Baseball is a demanding game. It’s hard to be perfect. Lemoore’s varsity baseball team learned that lesson Wednesday night when Tulare Western outgunned the Tigers on their home turf 5-2 to end the Tigers' West Yosemite League winning streak. Despite the loss, the Tigers are 17-5 overall and 11-1 in the West Yosemite League.

Lemoore has a chance for some revenge when the two teams face each other again on Friday at Tulare Western’s home field.

While the Tigers are indeed bound for the Central Section Playoffs, they still have Friday’s game and a pair against Hanford on May 10 in Hanford, and then host the Bullpups in their season closer on May 12.

In Wednesday’s game, Tulare scored three runs in the first to take the early lead and put up two more runs in the fourth to extend the lead before Lemoore came up with a pair of runs in the half of the inning. The two teams went scoreless the rest of the way.
