Tigers easily get by Mission Prep Wednesday 10-5 and will host Lompoc on Friday in Division II Central Section Playoffs
Lemoore continues to play well, as evidenced by its 19-7 overall record that includes 12 wins and just three losses in the West Yosemite League. The Braves were 15-11 overall and 8-6 in their coastal division. Gametime is 4:30 p.m. in Lemoore’s baseball stadium.
If The Tigers win, they will face the winner of No. 1 ranked Bakersfield Christian and Highland High School on May 23 at 4:30 p.m. If Bakersfield wins, the Tigers will hit the road to face the No. 1 ranked team. The Tigers appeared to be the dominant team against visiting Mission Prep, scoring ten runs in the first four innings while allowing Mission Prep just four runs in the first two innings, followed by a single run in the fifth.
“Tiger pitcher Emiliano Murillo threw a complete game giving him the win,” said Tiger Coach Izzy Gonzalez. “He also added a home run to his stats.”
Isaiah Gonzalez was two for three in the game with a pair of stolen bases, and two runs scored, and an RBI. “He also had a great day defensively, turning in key double plays to end crucial innings.” The heroics continued as Izzy Ramos belted a pair of triples and scored twice for the Tigers.
