Around 1,000 Naval Air Station Lemoore personnel and their families gathered at the local Navy base on Saturday to listen to the Lt. Dan Band, headed by actor Gary Sinise of Forrest Gump fame.

The Lt. Dan Band, founded by Sinise and a major player in the well-known movie, is known for its energetic performances and support for military and veteran organizations. Named after Sinise’s iconic character, Lieutenant Dan Taylor, the band has entertained audiences worldwide and dedicated its efforts to honor and assist those who served in the nation’s military.

The band played a wide variety of music for the NAS Lemoore crowd, some of which had the crowd dancing in front of the stage.

Before the concert, Sinise was welcomed to the Tailhook Tavern by the base commanding officer, Shawn O'Connor, for a press conference.  After the conference was over, the actor stopped to chat with pilots and their families inside the bar.
