Hundreds of local motorists, many arriving as early as 4 a.m. at West Hills College Lemoore, parked their vehicles on the streets surrounding the local school on Wednesday morning (Nov. 15) to receive boxes and bags of free foodstuff, a welcome site to many as Thanksgiving looms.

It was all part of the monthly free food distribution set up by the college and various other charitable organizations in Kings County.

This month’s giveaway included food for a Thanksgiving dinner for an entire family or two, and it had a large turkey, salads, canned fruits, vegetables, and bread.

The next giveaway is scheduled for December 11, including baked ham and other foods for a Christmas dinner.
