After outscoring their first two opponents 94-0 (Selma, 48-0, Washington Union, 46-0), Lemoore’s powerful Tigers' football team and their fans are hoping for another convincing win. Still, this time, the Tigers’ faithful fans would like to see nothing more than a third straight win over what is typically a potent Clovis West Golden Eagles team.

Clovis West is currently 1-1 after losing 38-28 in the season opener to St. Mary’s of Stockton. On Friday night last week, Clovis West crushed Turlock 56-16.

The Golden Eagles generally have a strong team. A year ago, Lemoore, which eventually won a Division title and a Valley Championship, lost to the visiting Golden Eagles 40-14 in Tiger Stadium.

This time around, the Tigers will have to prove themselves on the Eagles' home turf.

Again, the Tigers put on an impressive display of gridiron might Friday night in Tiger Stadium, quickly disposing of the visiting Washington Union Panthers, crushing the unsuspecting Panthers 46-0.

The powerful Lemoore squad continued their second-week assault on high school football with a second consecutive shutout of a Valley team. A week ago, the Tigers crushed Selma 48-0.

Lemoore didn’t pass very often on Friday night. Johnny Cunha completed two passes in four attempts, his longest, a 32-yard effort. Cunha, however, rushed for 85 yards, while senior Elijah Daley rushed for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On defense, Jace Silva and Spencer Silva came up with nine tackles between them to lead Lemoore’s defensive efforts.

On Friday, the Tigers were more than a match against Washington Union, scoring 32 points in the first half and a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter to remain unbeaten. Lemoore rushed and passed for 349 yards on the night.

The Tigers were impressive against the Panthers on Friday as Lemoore's running backs rushed for 309 yards on the night for four touchdowns.

Interestingly enough, Lemoore’s first score came on a fumble recovery early in the opening stanza when the Tigers recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown and a 6-0 advantage.

Lemoore was up 12-0 in the second quarter when receiver Kiontre Harris hauled a pass in for a touchdown and a Tiger 19-0 lead.

Still in the second, Lemoore’s Kobe Green came up with an interception and returned it for a touchdown and a 25-0 lead with about nine minutes left in the second quarter.

With about two minutes remaining in the first half, Johnny Cunha upped the margin to 32-0 with a run into the endzone.

It wasn’t until the fourth quarter that the Tigers scored again, this time a Kobe Green touchdown to put them up 39-0.

With about two minutes left, Elijah Daley scored on the run for a 46-0 advantage.
