Former Lemoore Mayor John Murray, one of Lemoore’s most outstanding citizens, passed away Tuesday at the age of 78. The longtime resident of Lemoore served an exemplary career in the United States Navy, retiring at the rank of Captain. On February 1, 2016, the good Lord took his faithful servant, Donald J. Warkentin home. Don was the most amazing husband, father, and friend anyone could be blessed to know. Don was raised in Reedley, CA by his loving parents Vern and Doris Warkentin. Don graduated from Reedley High School and continued to Reedley College. He transferred to Chico State where he met his beautiful wife Betty.
