Robert Lauterio, former Stratford man, LHS grad passes away in Salinas

Robert Lauterio, former Stratford resident and Lemoore High School graduate, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Salinas after a short battle with lung, throat, and brain cancer.

Robert was born February 2, 1967, the son of Manuel and Herminia Lauterio. The family moved to Stratford in 1978, and Robert attended Stratford Elementary School, where he received many academic honors and dazzled his teachers with his brilliant mind.

Robert graduated in 1985 from Lemoore High School, where he was active in band, theatre, Academic Decathlon, and CSF. After high school, he attended Cabrillo College, and worked various jobs in the restaurant and customer service industries throughout California, finally calling Santa Cruz home. He was last employed at Cruzio before his health declined.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Herminia Lauterio, and his brother, Michael Lauterio. His father, Manuel Lauterio was a POW/MIA of the Vietnam War. Robert leaves behind friends far and wide who will miss his intelligence, wit, and heart of gold. Per his request, no services were held.
