Former city manager hired by Templeton Community Services District
President of the Community Services Board, Judith Dietch said, “The Templeton Community Services District is fortunate to have someone of Jeff’s caliber and background.”
Briltz will begin his new job on June 19 in Templeton. “It just worked out well for me,” he told The Leader. “I’m excited about the new job.”
Originally from Fairfield, Briltz and his family lived in Lemoore for the past 17 years. He’s served as the city manager the last nine years and has 24 years of local government experience.
Briltz was selected from a field of more than 50 qualified applicants and looks forward to starting his new job. “I am passionate about public service,” he said. “I understand that a well-run local government can improve the quality of life for its residents.”
“It’s a nice little community,” said Briltz. Templeton is serviced by a local fire department but depends on the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Department for law enforcement needs. The Community Service Board is run by five locally elected board members.
The longtime city manager was unceremoniously let go by the Lemoore City Council earlier this year despite a stellar record and keeping the city of Lemoore financially viable.
