No decision yet on who the next Lemoore City Manager may be after regular meeting

The city manager finalists were down to two candidates, and after Tuesday's council meeting, no decision has been announced as of Wednesday evening in regards to who the new Lemoore City Manager may be.

Councilmembers met on Friday, September 13 to interview the final two city manager prospects and possibly make a decision. Councilmember Willard Rodarmel told The Leader that the council interviewed the final two candidates and will hash it out again on Tuesday night.

The application period for those interested in Lemoore’s city manager’s job, closed June 17 and only 16 prospective applicants ended up applying for the position.

The council, acting on recommendations from city staff, opted for a set of guidelines which allowed Interim City Manager Jeff Laws and Administrative Analyst J.P. Prichard, to weed out the unqualified city manager applicants and then ask an expert panel of former city managers to interview those remaining applicants.

A citizens’ panel also interviewed the candidates and pared the small list down to four, and councilmembers conducted those interviews and settled on the final two.

The city manager search commenced when the council decided to seek the resignation of former city manager Jeff Briltz.
