Kings Christian High School, on the strength of a 48-point first quarter, improved to 3-0 in the Central Sierra League by virtue of a 69-0 shellacking of Faith Christian in Coalinga in a rare Saturday night game.

The Crusaders improved to 5-3 on the season and will continue their quest for another league championship in a November 1 game against Alpaugh at Kings Christian High School.

A big part of the victory was the play of senior captain Daniel Salas, who had two interceptions in the game, including one where he ran it back for a touchdown.

After scoring 48 points in the opening frame, the Crusaders and tallied a touchdown in each of the remaining quarters to run away with the win.

The Crusaders need only wins over Alpaugh on November 1 and a victory against Riverdale Christian on November 9 at Riverdale to win the league title.
