Cal Trans warns motorists of lane closures due to bridge work on Highway 198

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in cooperation with Granite Construction, announced scheduled lane closures as part of a bridge enhancement project in Hanford within Kings County.

This project will make safety enhancements to undercrossing bridges on State Route 198 at 11th Avenue, Hanford-Armona Road and 14th Avenue.

The following lane closures are scheduled for next week:

On Tuesday, November 26th, 2013 the #2 lane (right lane) of both eastbound and westbound State Route 198 between 11th Avenue and 14th Avenue in Hanford will be closed between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

During these closures, State Route 198 will be reduced to one lane while crews are working on the outside shoulders. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time each day if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur during maintenance. These scheduled closures will occur, weather permitting.

Caltrans would like to thank the residents, businesses and commuters for their patience during this enhancement project. The public is asked to drive with extra care while traveling through the construction area and please Slow of the Cone Zone.
