Volunteer Firemen hold the lines as the annual tree goes up in downtown Lemoore
It must be Christmas, that is if one is to believe the annual raising of the downtown Christmas tree at Fox and D streets is any indication of the upcoming holiday.
The Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department spent much of the morning and afternoon raising the tree amid the well-wishers and spectators who came to watch on a nearly perfect December 1 day. The tradition of the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department has been an important part of Lemoore’s Christmas season for many decades. The tree will remain at the intersection for all of December and is removed in early January. Other activities on Sunday included a bounce house, hayrides, a craft show, Sarah Mooney Museum tours and much more. Sunday’s activities were just the beginning of the holiday season in Lemoore. The annual Lemoore Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 7 beginning at 6 p.m. in downtown Lemoore. The Lemoore Lions Club will host its annual Breakfast with Santa at the Lemoore Civic Auditorium on December 8 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
The Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department spread holiday cheer with the raising of the Christmas Tree on Sunday.
