West Hills College to choose new trustee for Lemoore area at December 10 special meeting

The West Hills Community College District Board of Trustees will interview two candidates next week to fill the vacancy left by the death of trustee Bill Henry. The Trustees will meet with the two candidates during a special meeting Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m.

Candidates for the vacant seat are Len Falter, a self-employed business owner of FTM Leadership Services, Inc., and Jay Salyer, an economic developer with the Kings County Economic Development Corporation, both candidates with high business and professional profiles.

Each candidate will have an opportunity to give a three-minute presentation in which they communicate their commitment to education and the community. After each presentation, board members will ask the candidates a series of questions.

Following the interviews, the Board will choose the new trustee based on majority vote. The new trustee will be formally seated during the regularly scheduled meeting at 10 a.m.

The new trustee will represent Area 4. For Area boundaries, consult the map on the district’s website: http://www.westhillscollege.com/district/about/board_trustees/index.asp.
