Jump in Spring enrollment at West Hills College

Students came back to class Monday for the start of the spring semester at West Hills Community College District’s three sites. Enrollments were up 4.95 percent district-wide at 5,912, compared to the same date a year ago when 5,633 students registered.

Late registration is permitted this week, assuming classes are available, and students may add or drop some classes so official registration figures will change slightly.

WHC Lemoore started the semester with 4,172 students – both full- and part-time - including those who enrolled at the college’s classrooms aboard Naval Air Station Lemoore.  WHC Coalinga enrolled 2,651 students, including those at the North District Center, Firebaugh. The campus figures include some duplication as students may take classes at both colleges.

Reports show that online classes continue to grow in popularity, up 16.5 percent year over year.
