It’s official, Lemoore’s girls’ soccer team beat Hanford Friday night in Tiger Stadium 3-1 and completed a solid West Yosemite League campaign at 8-4, finishing behind Redwood and Golden West in the standings. Lemoore will open the Division II playoffs with a home game in Tiger Stadium Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against Sanger High School.

Sanger would appear outmatched by the 8-4 Tigers. The Apaches were just 7-11-6 overall and 1-6-3 in the County/Metro League.

Against Hanford it was all the Tigers on senior night as Lisette Brown, a departing senior, scored twice to lead Lemoore. One of her goals came on an assist from Kelley Mellott. Mari Avalos scored the final Tiger goal with an assist from Michaela Ramirez.

“The Tigers were putting together beautiful passing sequences and moving the ball around the Bullpups,” said Tiger Coach Janet Brown. “Our defense came up big again shutting down Hanford. Erica Andrade had an exceptional game playing aggressive, and making beautiful, simple passes.”
