Lemoore Sup Neves unopposed on June Ballot, District 4 a hot race in Kings County

There will be some new faces in the political landscape this year and some very familiar faces returning to office following the June Primary Election. The biggest news was that Kings County District 4 Supervisor Tony Barba, who many believe was born into the District 4 seat, announced he would not seek re-election this year.

Seeking election to the open seat are Craig Pedersen, farmer and business manager from the Lemoore area; Sue Sorensen, a business owner, dental hygienist and former city council and school board member; Justin Bond, retired Army member, Dolores Gallegos, a retired teacher and former Hanford City Councilmember, and Alan Danielson, a local businessman.

District 3 incumbent Supervisor Doug Verboon faces challenger educator Holly Blair and in District 1 Supervisor Joe Neves, who represents Stratford and a good chunk of Lemoore, is unopposed.

Kings County District Attorney Greg Strickland is being challenged by attorney Keith Fagundes.

Kings County Assessor Ken Baird did not seek re-election. Seeking the open seat are Dan Chin, independent businessman and former Hanford council member; A. Renee Faber, county appraiser; Kristine Lee, chief auditor-appraiser, and Ed Lopez, appraiser and contractor.

Superintendent of Schools Tim Bowers will face educator Tony Araujo.
