The Golden Eagle Arena at West Hills College Lemoore was the place to be if you were an educator on Tuesday night. The Kings County Excellence in Education awards were held in the arena as a trio of dedicated educators walked away with top awards.

Included among the top educators was Lemoore High School’s Jamie Rogers who earned the county Administrator of the Year Award. Rogers, an assistant principal at Lemoore High School, has been with the school four years, but with the District a total of eight years. She also served as an administrator at Lemoore High School District’s Jamison High School.

Zona Hoggard was named the Teacher of the Year. Hoggard works in the Kings County Office of Education as a career teacher. Finally, Linda Sharp won the Classified Employee of the Year. She is a library technology clerk at Mark Twain Elementary.

Lemoore also had two other entrants. Longtime mathematics teacher, Margaret Doyle, a former LHS student herself, has been with the District a total of 28 years. “I feel very honored and I feel like I share this award with all my math department colleagues because we all work together,” she said.

Denise Calhoun was nominated as the District’s Classified Employee of the Year. Calhoun is Lemoore High School’s attendance clerk.
